These tracks are old. These tracks are also new too. I’ll explain…. In 1987or there about, Claude S. (Founding Member of Anything Box) decided to record some songs as a personal expression on the state of the world. Needless to say, his world was constantly changing at the time. As a result, the tape got buried and lost like an artifact in some box. Seems kinda fitting to the name sake of this band, don’t you think? Much to our benefit, Claude had recently rediscovered these brilliant songs. These are real new wave era sounds from before the “Peace” album days offered up like an opened time-capsule.. One of the tracks “The pain I inherited” although previously un-released, is quite familiar to all the ABOX fanatics out there. All the other tracks had never been heard until now. He went through the daunting task of re-mastering and polishing these tracks. Although the ESQ-1 is now considered a relic from the past, it sounds brilliantly. Its pure strings and drums are so well conducted into a masterpiece called “Nineteen “. What does it all mean???? Is 19 synonymous with anything at all??? I’m not sure but, what I can say is that it is ironic just how much those thoughts and feelings that came out in those songs over 20 years ago are still very relevant and narrate the world we live in now. Claude has out done himself once again by creating an interactive website to promote this digital release ( www.anythingbox-nineteen.com) . The theme of the site quickly draws you in to an ideal multimedia experience. You’ll see! The artwork booklet alone is worth the buy. The tracks are nothing short of phenomenal!
