Awopbopaloopop Alopbam RÄJÄ! is the debut album of the Finnish rock and roll band Räjäyttäjät, which is Finnish for The Detonators – and they promise to bring us some explosive tracks.
Some people in the Finnish music press have hauled the rock trio Räjäyttäjät as the saviors of rock 'n' roll. I mostly hear 3 young guys having a hell lot of fun.
According to Ektro Records, the sound of their music is the result of some wild partying: “With Rock Siltanen on bass, Villisika on guitar, and Baddad Reed on drums, the original rhythm ‘n’ blues plans for the group were swept away in a manic orgy of blood, sweat, and rock ‘n’ roll. In Finland, we have come to call this music Räjä ‘n’ roll.”
The lyrics on Awopbopaloopop Alopbam RÄJÄ! seem to be mostly nonsense blabbering (not just because it is in Finnish, it seems to be the goal of the band to make it Tutti Frutti Räjä ‘n’ roll with a ton of umlauts). But none of that matters: Räjäyttäjät just wants you to surrender to their groove and rock along.
While Awopbopaloopop Alopbam RÄJÄ! often sounds like a chaotic bunch of chords and beating drums fueled by pure rock 'n' roll energy, I can imagine that Räjäyttäjät make for a great live band.
Overall, Awopbopaloopop Alopbam RÄJÄ! by Räjäyttäjät is a kick of energy. If you like staying updated on the latest Finnish underground music, this random blabbering and rocking is right up your alley!
