Russian Goth metallers T.H.E. Sacrament unleash this beauty of all sonata’s upon Russia and the Goth world, combining Russia’s dark beauty with the icy cold of Siberia, the Russian quintet deliver an atmospheric masterpiece, which is best listened to in the most apt situation, in ‘the sobering cold’. Starting off with a melodic introduction, the atmosphere changes to a cold and dark aurora, with the melodies of the piano echoing around the room, this is Gothic Metal at its finest, with each song linking to one another, it kicks off with ‘falling star’, a masterpiece of all masterpieces, delivering the best of female vocals around with the austere of a Gothic minded band. Russian’s know gothic metal to its roots and this band is no exception, weaving spine-chilling vocals with electrifying and dramatic musical compositions, this is an opus to retain in your music collection. Blistering drumming is found in numerous spots across this fine work of art, but the backdrop remains constant, a clear sign this music is carefully perfected, with every aspect drawn to attention. The signature deep gothic male vocals are found in many areas of this album. Amongst the gothic metal expert bands such as The 69 Eyes (Finland), Lacuna Coil (Italy), Oomph! (Germany), My Dying Bride (England) and Sirenia (Norway), Russia has its own answer to them, T.H.E Sacrament is set to take the world by storm, and with their debut album it is imminent, this band will go far, draw your attention to the arctic wilderness of Siberia and focus on the city of Saint Petersburg, the darkness is calling.
