“Flight Plan“, “24“, “Spaceheater“, “Cropduster“, “AKB“, “Mingus“; just a few of the songs you will hear off of legendary NYC hardcore band Killing Time’s latest effort “Three Steps Back“. Listeners will not be disappointed. What I loved most was the raw production and energy which are staples of the NY hardcore scene. I remember going to to CBGBs in ‘95 or ‘96 and Killing Time was on one of the bills. It was one of the first hardcore shows that I went to. Others that come to mind had Madball, S.O.D., Candiria and Indecision on the bill. In any event, Killing Time as well as many other NY hardcore bands have influenced my own work. I was surprised to hear that they have reunited since the last I heard they had broken up. Regardless, their latest LP is a return to form and those into the NYC hardcore sound, or those who remember the scene in its prime will love the band’s latest offering.. “24” is vintage hardcore, AKB has great timing changes and you will have to buy the new album to judge for yourself how cool the new stuff is. I am glad that Killing Time is Back!
