"A New Day" is the first full-length release from the Finnish gothic metal band Sinamore on the French label Season of Mist. I wasn't too familiar with the band before hearing this release. "A New Day" really didn't leave too good of an impression on me. Sinamore's sound is typical gothic metal and there really isn't much here that is any different from the countless other same-sounding bands in the genre. Almost all of the ten tracks presented here sound the same with Mikko's clean vocals and his and Tommi Muhli's generic sounding guitar riffs being the driving force behind the music. Though I haven't heard Sinamore's new release yet, judging by this album I hope they have made some changes or it can't be too good. I doubt that I'll be recommending this release to anyone but if you can't get enough of gothic metal, then you may like it given a chance.
