Wow, was this a killer demo! Sanguis Imperem is a California band comprised of three members, R.S., S.S. & R. Wolfsblood. MMVII is a four track demo, with two of the tracks being an intro and outro. The demo opens up with ‘Heretic Creed’, a short track with slow, ominous guitar playing building up to the second track. ‘For the Pleasure of Wolves’ and ‘Conflagration’ are the two main tracks of the demo. ‘For the Pleasures of Wolves’ comes in at just under three minutes and never slows down. This is pure hate-filled death metal brutality. ‘Conflagration’ takes off where ‘For the Pleasures’ leaves off and just blazes until about half way when it slows down almost to a doom metal pace. ‘Fallen Gods, End of Greatness’ is the outro and the music definitely fits the track title. It is a very melancholic outro with some great clean guitar playing. Overall, I think this demo was excellent!
