Sunterra's Lost Time is a dark metal CD with fierce beats, and powerful guitar riffs. The vocals are very raw and thick that comes from the male vocalist, and as the same time we hear this more brutal vocal section, we also hear angelic female vocals over top especially in the opening track "Fields of Pain". The music has heavy metal tones along with string sounds, that give it this darker feel. They really work the guitars especially towards the end of the first song with a little jam session. The song has a lot of melody with helps you stay focus with the heavy percussion and grinding guitars. I like how the "Lost time" opens with a sample of a clock, and there also was a sample of a crow in the first song. Again, the CD kicks into high gear with fast guitar playing and drumming. Again, a good mix of male and female vocals in the song "Lost Time". I liked how the band could have fast guitars at times, while the drumming, and keyboards slowed down the song, like in "Out of the Dark". "Out of the Dark" was heavy, but catchy. Sunterra may be dark and heavy, but they make their music easy to listen to with the mix of metal and the backdrop of strings, and the female voice mix.
