Tearwave- Tearwave

Projekt Records' own Tearwave are carrying the torch for all things Shoegaze.  The Buffalo, NY band's self-titled release shows their love and admiration for bands like Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, and Lush.  The opening track, "Lotus Flower", reminds me of Slowdive's "Crazy for You" from their swan song 'Pygmaliion' (a compliment, indeed!).   Jenn Manganielllo delivers the songs with hauntingly beautiful vocals.

Standout tracks on the ten-track CD include the aforementioned "Lotus Flower", "Crimson Water Cleanses the Soul" and "Nightingale". 

If you're in New Haven, CT the weekend of August 10-12, you'll be lucky enough to see Tearwave perform as part of Projektfest '07 on August 11.  I know I'm looking forward to hearing these beautiful songs live.
