Collapse is the third official release of Slovakia’s own, dISHARMONY. dISHARMONY is an aurally stunning EBM project created by two friends who go by the names Ryby and Lord Shadow. Everything about their sound is incredibly familiar, yet somehow completely fresh and unexplored.

Collapse begins sounding like it could have come from Skinny Puppy’s Last Rights or Back and Forth Volume 3: A chilling, warped environment intensified with monk-like chanting and whispered lyrics. The rest of the album follows closely in the intro’s lead, minimalistic darkened soundscapes and distorted vocals. The music falls somewhere between Mid-Career Velvet Acid Christ and Negative Format at their best. Far from a clone, though, dISHARMONY is able to pick up the lessons laid by their predecessors and push the envelope further--much further, in fact; accessing the available technology and paving their own way with incredible ease.

The music on Collapse seems to be in a constant state of conflict between beauty and evil, though always meshing perfectly in a world of mechanized precision. This album showcases everything that inspired me to get into industrial music. dISHARMONY’s Collapse displays a firm understanding of music’s past with enough of an open mind and sound to reach well beyond.
