"Morningstar", the third full length release from Asmodeus X is redefining the world of electronic music and the way that we catergorize musical acts. Mix in some ebm, elements of Kraftwerk era minimalistic electro, industrial sensibilities, left hand path tactics, trance-like future/synth pop, and the unique product that you come up with is the undeniably interesting sound of Asmodeus X.

Esoteric and seductive, full of antiquated yet suprisingly relevent ideals, that lend nothing but an exciting power and an edge that many artists are so desperately lacking, "Morningstar" shines in a world of repetitive and unimaginative musical darkness.

The vocals are perfectly suited to the mood and message of each song on the album, with sophisticated lyrics that define the meaning of the word intellectual, and explore the darkest realms of the animal mind and the human condition.

Programming that can only be described as inarguably stunning and hypnotic. Employing as much assorted analogue equipment as they can get their hands on, Asmodeus X generate a sound that is without equal or rival. And the fact that the members all are experts in their knowledge and experience using such synthetic machinery comes through in spades throughout the entire disc.

Standout songs of "Morningstar" include the creative, effected vocals and catchy synth grooves of "Against the Moon", the ultra addictive and intelligent programming of "Kreislauf" (which I suspect will become a dance floor favorite the world around), the sample filled and guitar heavy "L.O.D.", and the brillant melodic beauty of the acoustic final track, the Visionary Mix of "Morningstar".

Special features on the album include the "Voices of the Fallen" Quicktime video, which is outstanding, and an excellent cover of "Roman P" by Psychic TV. This is a fantastic cd, a release full of undeniable electronic ingenuity, and comes highly reccommended by this reviewer.
