Rotersand’s new single, “Waiting to Be Born” follows the band’s album “Random is Resistance.” The single is just what we would expect from the synth-pop act, but with some pleasant surprises with the remixes. The album opens with “Waiting to Be Born (rework)” which is a solid track with techno influenced synths. “Number and a Name [stripped down]” is a noisy and an effective take on the song. The SITD remix of “First Time” is stripped down without drums for a large part of the song. Still, it’s a good remix of the original and a strong point of the album. “A Strange Type of Love” is a typical slice of electro-pop with shimmering piano flourishes. “All These Moments” is a dance-floor ready track. The iVardenshphere remix of “War on Error”--perhaps the strongest track from "Random is Resistance" is yet another one of the single’s high points. For fans of Rotersand’s work, the remixes on this single make it worth the purchase price. The songs found here are solid, especially the remixes by SITD and iVardensphere.
