When I thought about how I can describe Heimataerde, I thought of harsh ebm /industrial blended with mid- evil tunes.  This band gives to me the same rush as Asphyxia, Hocico or Combichrist. It is hard stomping music with the meshing of voices that makes my inner curl in spasms. The new EP “Malitia Angelíca,” is not quite how I would first have pictured it ast this ep is more melodic and not so war like. The “Malitia Angelíca” features Martin Engler of Mono Inc and is his contribution to Heimataerde. The band is collaboration between its own special style and different musicians and DJ’s who are supposed to leave their special mark on the product. It is a solo project by Ashlar von Megalon aka DJ Ash aka Dirk Dette who writes the music and the lyrics himself. He tells us a saga of the vampire like templar knight who fight to reach the light and is religious themed of course. On stage 2007 the band was dressed as Templar knights with metal chain outfits and all. One of their hits is named Gotteskrieger. You get the idea. We have seen the story grow ever since 2004 when Ash released the first record. With the album “Unwesen” from where the title song of this EP, Ash gives away the complete saga as an artwork with poetry in a booklet and music all together with story as a radio play. You can hear this on the limited edition version of the CD. If you are in for an experience of adult story time giving you lust to dance to and a stomp that would wake your neighbour, then buy this EP for when snuggling your partner and the whole album for when it’s time to go deep into reading, convolute together, and dance like crazy.
