Just by listening to the first track of the new album “She's a Machine” by Alice in Videoland, you will notice that the band wanted to move away from their older electro-pop sound to a new more raw punk like sound. I admit it works, at least for the first two songs. The rest of the songs on “She’s a Machine” don’t really live up to the speed and aggressiveness as the first two. Well, that isn't necessary a bad thing though, you do get a good mix of both melodic electro-pop songs and heavier more punk inspired tunes. I'm a bit split when it comes to she's a machine. I like the first half of the CD, but I seriously think the other half just falls flat down. My personal opinion, I really think the maiden voyage CD is the best one they have made so far. Best songs on this new album are, “She's a Machine,” “Mf”, “Numb” and “We are rebels,” simply because they have the melodies, aggressiveness and in your face lyrics.
