Virtual Embrace- MP3 (Dementia)
This EP is jammed with talent. It features remixes by Psi.Corp, Solitary Experiments, Schattenschlag as well as Neikka RPM and Glis. It holds twelve tracks of dancefloor friendly beats. However, it only holds three tracks, two of which are remixed by the aforementioned artists (also on this cd as a featured remix artists are Noise Pirate, Sebastian Schleinitz, Oliver Senger and Negative Brain). Track one, "Dementia", in it’s original format, holds it’s own. With it’s harsh, distorted vocals it still keeps an air of accessibility. This helps in making a track dancefloor friendly. Track two, "Roots of Evil", has an almost Suicide Commando feel to it. Fans of that band will find this track appealing to them. Track three, "The End", starts somewhat calm and builds up the layers into a deep, driving bass line. The vocals of this track are not as distorted as the other tracks, making it the most accessible track on this EP. It is hard to really point out remixes that are better than the others, for all these wonderful artists have done such a good job on them. Fans of old-school sounds will enjoy track six. It is a remix of "Dementia" by Sebastian Schleinitz. It holds that slightly slower beat with nice twists of unusual noises. Track seven, a remix of "The End" by Oliver Senger is appealing to fans of synthpop. In this fine remix, it incorporates elements of synthpop but keeps that aggro-feel at the same time. I like how flexible this cd is, holding new and old together effortlessly. This EP is a gem in itself, for it contains tracks from the new album "Escape to Insane" as well as the limited 2CD edition. This new album, being the follow-up to Hellektro, seems to hold a quite talented force to be reckoned with. Keep your eyes on this band.
